How it works
Your current grade covers the work done so far. The midterm covers its own share of the course. This finds the midterm score that lifts your overall grade to the one you want. If the number comes out above 100, that target cannot be reached with the midterm alone.
Common questions
What if I score zero on the midterm?
If the tool says you already secured your target, even zero keeps you there. Otherwise your grade drops by the midterm's weight.
Is this the same as a final grade calculator?
The math is the same, just applied to the midterm instead of the final. Use the final grade tool for the end-of-term exam.
